If you want to add a list of books that you are reading, with a link to Amazon ,
on your home/blog page the simplest and easiest way I've found is All Consuming.net web site.
Login, create an ID. Once you have your ID you can create a profile of the books that you have read or are reading with a short synopsis.
After you've generated a list of books a code box is generated of your book listing with embeded links to Amazon.
Copy and paste the code in to your blog page template and voila, an instant blogroll of your current reading list.
Posted by chartoo at February 1, 2004 03:01 AMIt [seems] simple. All Consuming does offer the option of "Favorite Books". But the code generated must somehow include "Currently Reading". What if you want to show only Favorites, not including Currently Reading? Kinda difficult to figure out. Know of a way and have the time and interest, let me know. Anyway, thanks for the link to All Consuming. It's an interesting concept he has there. I'll keep working at it.
Posted by: Robert Tracy at February 8, 2004 10:52 AMI had a bit of trouble figuring out how to display something other than what I am currently reading too. So I changed my purchased list to currently reading as an interim work around.
You have a fine site yourself.
How is it you know Kris?
Thanks for stopping by, if I figure out how to generate the java for allconsuming to generate something other than the currently reading list I will let you know.
